Bollywood Movie legends.

bollywood moviesBollywood movies and songs have always excited middle class Indians and the Arabs. That is the reason for its popularity in countries like Egypt and rest of the Arab world. It was indeed sad to see Taliban banning Bollywood movies and songs in Afghanistan where the ordinary Afghans swear by it.Though the popularity of Bollywood has totally vanished in Russia, once a very popular destination where Raj Kapoor and singer Mukesh Chand Mathur became legends. However it lasted while the iron curtain lifted and the Russians enjoyed better stuff with imported Hollywood and British material.
Many in the industry consider Bollywood a derogatory word for Indian film Industry which has already completed more than sixty years since Moti Lal showed Indians natural acting.Moti Lal,a legend in its own right could carry film on its soldiers with his elegant style and natural feeling. It was sad however that this talented actor and Icon lost all his money living a life in a fast lane where he would hobnob with British viceroys and Maharajahs with an ease unseen in his time.Another talented and versatile actor Balraj Sahni carried the legacy forward.Moti Lal,Raj kapoor and Mukesh formed a deadly combination in the film Industry which was hard to beat.
Than came another legend called Yusuf Khan alias Duleep Kumar who along with Madhu Bala and Ashok Kumar took Indian films to a new height.Shammi Kapoor,Shashi Kapoor and Sanjeev Kumar along with Rajesh Khanna came in tidal waves making films even more popular. The beauty of Madhu Bala and Waheeda Rehman on screen was unmatched in those times.Dev Anand had only popularised the show with his discovery Zeenat Aman who went on to become the most sexy actress, the Indian cinema has ever seen.Sanjeev Kumar and Amol palekar were other very talented actors who formed wonderful chemistry with Utpal Dutt.Comedians like Johar and Rajendernath and Mehmood kept the screen alive along with little help from Deven Verma.
Than came a Tsunami of Bollywood called Amitabh Bacchan, who scorched the screen with little help from Dharmendra and Vinod Khanna. Shri Ram Lagoo and Hangal provided the character roles necessary for films success.
However the era from 1989-2001 was the worst with talent at the back ground altogether.Underground Mafia led by Dawood Ibrahim spread their tentacles and would even supply the budding actresses to bedroom of Dubai Sheikhs for money.Naturally Indian film Industry became Bollywood.Actor and actresses of this era were untalented and usually moles of goons or politicians.Indian public stopped seeing films in theatre, instead watched more of Hollywood stuff.Liberalisation of Television even game an option to the Indian public. It was only after Indian film Industry was given the status of an Industry that things started changing.Nana Patekar emerged as a talented and bankable star.Only Madhuru Dixit kept the screen alive with her acting and beauty. Now is the time of models and families in Bollywood.Nephews, nieces and sons of yeastier stars have been forced on Indian public. This new generation actor and stars have no talent.
